Alisson magnificent as 4/10 teammate anonymous – Liverpool player ratings v PSG

Liverpool secured a smash-and-grab victory against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Reds were outplayed for the majority of the contest (5 March) but substitutes Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott combined to seal the win late in the clash.

Alisson – 9

The Brazilian goalkeeper kept the Reds in the contest making nine saves in a performance that showed why many consider him to be the best in the world, no other keeper has ever made that many saves and kept a clean sheet in the competition.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6

Struggled against Kvaratskhelia but constantly fought to win the ball back in a solid defensive performance.

Ibrahima Konate – 5

Konate was lucky to not be sent off for a push in the first-half in an unusually shaky performance against his former club.

Virgil van Dijk – 5

The Dutchman was nowhere near as dominant as he normally is as the Reds were dominated by the Parisians for most of the clash.

Andy Robertson – 5

Like his counterpart on the other flank, struggled against Barcola but was constantly harassing the Paris man to win the ball back

Ryan Gravenberch – 4 (off for Endo, 79)

A sloppy performance from the former Bayern Munich star as he was inaccurate with his passes and struggled to make an impact defensively.

Alexis Mac Allister – 5

The Argentine was non-existent defensively and could not make his mark on the rate occasion that the Reds had the ball.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 5

The Hungarian made little impact on either side of the ball in the contest on a rare off-night in the French capital.

Mohamed Salah – 5 (off for Salah, 86)

Completed the majority of his passes but was ineffective going forward despite taking multiple touches in the Parisian box and was hooked for Harvey Elliott after 86 minutes.

Diogo Jota – 4 (off for Jones, 67)

There was anger when Jota was announced in the starting line-up and continued to be frustrated with no contributions in another anonymous performance from the Portugal international

Luis Diaz – 5 (off for Nunez, 67)

The Colombian was a non-factor on the left flank as he failed to create a single chance before he was replaced by Darwin Nunez.
