Stefan Bajcetic ‘to save FSG millions’ after what he did v Barcelona

Liverpool could save millions in the summer transfer window after Stefan Bajcetic’s recent performances in La Liga.

The Reds ace has struggled with consistent injuries since he made a stunning breakthrough into the first-team under Jurgen Klopp.

A loan spell at Red Bull Salzburg was underwhelming so the deal was terminated and the Spanish maestro moved to Las Palmas for the remainder of the season in the winter transfer window.

The 20-year-old has impressed for the Canary Islands outfit and could find himself among Arne Slot’s plans upon his return to Merseyside.

Liverpool loanee Bajcetic shines against Barcelona

The Spanish star gained considerable fanfare when he featured 19 times for the L4 outfit in the 2022/23 season, scoring his first Premier League goal in the process.

He missed the majority of the next season through injury issues featuring just three times for the Reds’ first-team.

A loan to Austria to work under former Anfield assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders resulted in Bajcetic making just eight starts and the former being relieved of his duties.

However, he has shined since moving to the La Liga outfit, starting three out of four possible matches and the 2-0 defeat against Barcelona was possibly his best game yet.

The Reds loanee created one chance and was made two passes into the final third while completing 13 out of 18 passes for a 72 per cent accuracy. [Fotmob]

He really stood out with his defensive work with three interceptions and five recoveries against the league leaders.

Bajcetic performance will encourage Arne Slot

Bajcetic can still have a future with the Anfield outfit but he needs to prove that he can stay fit and perform on a regular basis.

The most important thing is that he gets constant minutes and he has featured for 251 minutes in Los Amarillos’ last three matches after a 24-minute cameo on his debut against Girona.

If he can get over his injury concerns and consistently shine in his latest loan spell then Arne Slot will have no choice to take notice.

He could force his way into the Dutchman’s plans especially given how exhausted Ryan Gravenberch has looked recently and save Fenway Sports Group millions in the process.
