Liverpool make first approach to sign £25m-rated Alexander-Arnold replacement
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool future remains the topic of hot debate.
The England star is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and there has been little indication that the right-back will sign a new deal to prolong his career-long stay with the Reds.
Real Madrid have been hotly linked with a move for Alexander-Arnold, with some reports suggesting that Los Blancos even made an approach to bring the 26-year-old to the Santiago Bernabeu in the winter transfer window.
And now it looks as though Arne Slot and his recruitment team are already pondering a long-term replacement, according to reports in Brazil.

Liverpool eye Flamengo gem for summer transfer
Alexander-Arnold has been an exceptional servant to Liverpool and if he were to leave then it would obviously represent a huge blow to the Reds.
Having said that, the Reds have – by and large – been excellent in their recruitment over the past decade, so there is a trust that a suitable replacement can be found.
According to Brazilian outlet UOL (21 February), a first approach has been made to Flamengo to sign 21-year-old right-back Wesley Franca.
The Brazilian outfit would reportedly demand a fee in the region of £25million to sanction an exit, with Aston Villa and Bournemouth reportedly having already had bids rejected.
It is claimed that the Reds would be looking to make a move for Wesley after the Club World Cup has taken place.

Liverpool have life after Alexander-Arnold
While things have been going well on the pitch, with Liverpool leading the Premier League and finishing top of the Champions League league phase, there has been a constant narrative playing out off it in the background.
Namely the futures of three of their most prized assets in Liverpool trio Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah, all of whom are out of contract at the end of June.
Position | Points |
1. Liverpool | 61 |
2. Arsenal | 53 |
3. Nottingham Forest | 47 |
4. Manchester City | 44 |
While losing all three could present a huge headache for Liverpool, no one player – or group of players – is bigger than the club and there would be life after Alexander-Arnold.
Whether that replacement is Wesley or another player on the recruitment team’s no doubt lengthy list of options, no player is irreplaceable no matter how good they are.
If Alexander-Arnold decides to stay put, then great. If he opts to take on a new challenge in Madrid, then thanks for the memories, all the best, and the club will still keep doing its damndest to be the best in the world.
