Luis Diaz exit latest: Liverpool star’s inner circle confirm major transfer news
Liverpool star Luis Diaz has had a tough season despite the Reds’ stunning campaign so far.
The Reds lead the Premier League and qualified automatically for the Champions League round of 16 after topping the league-phase.
However, after being shoehorned into a false nine role, the Colombian has notched just one goal contribution in his last 12 matches in all competitions.
Speculation surrounding his future continues to arise but a new insight from his camp has shut down any chance of an Anfield exit.

Luis Diaz set to stay at Liverpool
A report from Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra (20 February) claims that Diaz’s inner circle have denied that the Liverpool star has been offered to Barcelona.
It states that they have spoken to the Spanish club, who have held an interest in the former Porto man since 2023.
However, his future is dependent on whether the L4 outfit decide to renew his contract rather than the Catalan’s interest.

Arne Slot set to retool Liverpool attack
With reports emerging in recent weeks that Arne Slot is growing frustrated by his attacking options despite his side’s commanding lead in the title race, there was concern for Diaz’s future on Merseyside.
The 28-year-old has notched 13 goals and two assists in 36 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign.
However, he has been criticised for his profligacy in front of the goal when playing as a number nine over the likes of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez.
Date | Diaz goal contributions |
Before 1 January | 14 |
After 1 January | 1 |
The 61-cap international has struggled since the turn of the year with 12 of his strikes coming before the new year.
He is unlikely to regain his spot on the left-wing anytime soon because that has been taken by Cody Gakpo, who has notched 16 goals and five assists in same amount of appearances as the Colombia star.
With the Dutchman potentially missing out of the Manchester City clash due to an injury that kept him from featuring in the 2-1 win over Wolves and the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, Diaz may get a chance to impress from his natural position again.
It is imperative, for his future and for the Reds’ title ambitions, that he takes it.
