Danny Murphy shares Arne Slot verdict in ‘Impossible’ Liverpool admission
Danny Murphy believes it’s “impossible” to not be impressed by the work Arne Slot has done at Liverpool since his arrival.
The Dutchman took over from Jurgen Klopp and has managed to lead the Reds to the top of the Premier League and Champions League tables.
There may have been the odd blunder here and there such as the defeat against Nottingham Forest on 14 September but, in the grand scheme of things, it looks the merest of blips.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (5 February, 13:00pm), former Liverpool man Murphy shared his thoughts on Slot.
“It’s been impossible to not be impressed by him [Slot], I think he’s articulate, warm, charismatic, but the time to really judge him will be when he has a bad run but we haven’t seen Liverpool have a bad run yet, we haven’t seen him under pressure,” he said.
“I don’t think he will be one of those who start blaming every man and his dog if things go wrong, he’s not that naive to think he can just keep on winning.
“There’s going to be a spell where they have a bad day or two but so far, you have to be impressed by him.”
Liverpool could win the Premier League and Champions League this season
Although we’re still a fair distance away from the end of the season, it feels like it’s becoming a real possibility that Liverpool could end the season with both the Premier League and Champions League trophies in their hands.
When the entire first team is fit and raring to play, it feels like each player knows exactly how to play their role and how to get the best out of the teammates around them.
Indeed, we still have around half of the season left to go before it reaches its end but with the form that the Reds find themselves in at the moment, it feels like they’re on another level.

Granted, they have just lost their last Champions League group stage game against PSV but the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk were both left out of the squad so that game can’t be read into all that much.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Slot and his men but even if he just ends up with one of the aforementioned trophies at the end of the term, it’ll be a remarkable success.
