Arne Slot acknowledged "everyone wants" Mohamed Salah amid reported interest from Saudi Arabi in the Liverpool star.

The superstar forward has had a massive question mark hanging over his head since the start of the season as his contract at Anfield is set to expire.

And, as we're now entering the second half of the season without a resolution for the situation in sight, rumours are starting to intensify.

Speaking to the media in his pre-Bournemouth press conference in quotes relayed by Lewis Steele (31 January), Slot shared Liverpool's stance on the future of the Egyptian when asked about the interest from Saudi Arabia.

"Everyone wants him, including us. We want him to extend of course," he said.

Liverpool must keep Mohamed Salah at Anfield

It goes without saying that without Salah among the Reds' ranks, they'd be half the team they've been this season.

Thanks to his impressive performances and willingness to fight for all three points in every game he plays, Liverpool find themselves on top of the Premier League and Champions League tables.

The Reds have been one of the most dominant forces in world football this season and while there has been the odd slip-up here and there, it feels like the Merseyside outfit are well on their way to earning their first Premier League title in the Slot era.

However, with Salah's contract situation still not resolved yet, it feels like there's an overarching worry at Anfield about where his future could possibly lie.

So, it's likely reassuring for fans to hear that Slot wants to keep the Egypitan at the Merseyside club rather than allow him to leave on a free at the end of the term.
