Slot to axe Jones in five changes – Liverpool predicted XI v Ipswich
Arne Slot could give Curtis Jones a rest from his Liverpool starting XI for their upcoming Premier League clash against Ipswich on Saturday.
The midfielder was taken off at half-time of the Champions League win over Lille and could well be given a breather after coming off the pitch with what seemed like a bit of a knock in the dying embers of the first 45 minutes.
Alongside the England international, Jarell Quansah, Kostas Tsimikas, Connor Bradley and Darwin Nunez could all also face the axe after taking part in the midweek clash.
In their place could come Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo.

In between the sticks will be Alisson, the Brazilian has been the Reds’ number one for some time now and unless injured, he very rarely loses his place in the team, even though only 12.5 per cent of his long balls made it to their intended targets against Lille [Sofascore].
The defence is where we’re likely to see the most changes with Alexander-Arnold and Robertson coming back in at the full-back positions with the duo looking to add some defensive stability to the team after Bradley only completed 50 per cent of the ground duels he attempted.
At the heart of Liverpool’s defence will be Virgil van Dijk and Konate with the dynamic duo likely to join up once again after the Frenchman missed out on the Champions League clash when Quansah lost possession of the ball four times.

The midfield will see just one change with Szoboszlai coming in for Jones despite him putting in a fairly industrious display against Lille as he managed to get himself an assist and maintained a pass accuracy of 88 per cent.
Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch are going to be his two partners in crime with the latter of the two earning plaudits for his solid defensive work against Lille when he won 100 per cent of his ground duels and made two interceptions.
Last but not least, in attack both Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are likely to keep their place in the starting XI with Cody Gakpo coming in as the focal point over Nunez after the Uruguayan was fairly wasteful in front of goal, missing one big chance and only having one shot on target.
