Slot told to make ‘perfect’ change for Liverpool v Lille, he’s earned it

Arne Slot has been told to start Harvey Elliott in the Champions League clash between Liverpool and Lille on Tuesday.

The midfielder was brought on towards the end of the Reds’ 2-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday and he managed to have a solid impact on the result of the game.

He helped link the attack and midfield together and also brought another level of energy to the Dutchman’s squad when he entered the pitch.

Arne Slot should give Harvey Elliott more chances for Liverpool

While Elliott may have been Jurgen Klopp’s golden boy, game time has been somewhat hard to come by for the young Englishman with Slot at the helm.

Indeed, his injuries this season have likely played a big part in his lack of game time but even when he’s been fit, he’s not been given a chance as often as he would’ve likely hoped for.

However, Liverpool’s fans believe it’s about time for that to change with one saying it’s the “perfect” game for him while another shared that they believe he’s “earned” his spot in the starting XI.

At the end of the day, who starts and who gets benched is all down to Slot and whether or not he thinks Liverpool need to go all guns blazing to get yet another three points added to their Champions League tally.

Only time will tell what the future has in store but after his cameo appearance against Brentford, it feels like Slot would be silly to not at least give him a chance to prove himself.
