Arne Slot told to start Liverpool gem v Brentford – ‘He’d have a field day’

Liverpool have been told to start Jayden Danns for their upcoming Premier League clash against Brentford on Saturday.

The youngster was brought on in the 72nd minute of their FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley and managed to bag the Reds’ third goal of the game.

The youngster transformed Arne Slot’s attack when he came on and his clinical nature was once again put on show.

While Liverpool are still one of the most dominant teams in the country, fans believe that if Danns was given a start against Brentford he’d “have a field day” with the Bees’ defence.

Liverpool should entrust Jayden Danns more

At the moment, Liverpool’s number nine role has been under plenty of questions with the likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo all becoming the focal point of the attacking line in recent weeks.

The former of the three has already been linked with an Anfield exit in the winter transfer window but nothing concrete has yet surfaced in that regard.

After the performance, Danns put in on 11 January, fans have called for Slot to take a risk and start the youngster with one saying he’s a “boss player” while another said that he was “good enough to start” over Nunez.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Danns and Slot but it seems that plenty of fans would like to see the youngster afforded a chance to prove his worth against Thomas Frank’s men.

And, if he manages to do so, Liverpool could save themselves millions on the transfer market should one of their attackers choose to leave.

In other Liverpool news, Paul Merson had raged at a “terrible” Reds player after what he did against Nottingham Forest.
