Jayden Danns can make first-team impact at Liverpool after FA Cup heroics

Jayden Danns has scored a goal every 33 minutes in his seven first-team appearances for Liverpool.

However, the Reds should keep him around the senior squad rather than sending him out on loan in the January transfer market.

The academy star showed great movement and instinctive finishing to score the third goal in the 4-0 FA Cup third-round win over Accrington Stanley and those attributes could prove vital in the run-in.

Danns could play a part in Liverpool run-in

Although he has only featured seven times for the senior team, Danns has shown why he is one of the most highly-rated stars in the Reds’ academy.

His 22 goals in the youth ranks last season were encouraging but it was his contributions when called upon in the first-team that had supporters eager to see more of the England Under-18 international.

Last season, he scored a brace against Southampton in the FA Cup fifth-round but he has been hampered by injuries so far this campaign and featured for the first time under Arne Slot against Accrington.

Slot refused to rule out a loan deal after the clash [Liverpool Echo] but the young forward could be a super sub during the Premier League and Champions League run-in.

His development may be better served by a loan deal where he will play regular first-team football but the way he started the move and then followed it in and smashed home was superb and will have given his manager something to think about.

With the inconsistent form of Darwin Nunez and the injury record of Diogo Jota, he may find himself featuring more often if he sticks around.
