View: Liverpool youth star could force his way into Arne Slot’s plans after EFL loan
Liverpool loanee Lewis Koumas scored his fourth goal of the season for Stoke City in the loss to Sunderland on Saturday.
The 19-year-old has appeared in 21 matches for the Potters so far this campaign, making 14 starts and notching six goal contributions in all competitions, and was also handed his first cap for the Wales national team in September.
The Welsh international is making the most of his first taste of regular senior football and if he continues in this vein of form, Arne Slot could be forced to give him a first-team chance next season.
Liverpool gem Lewis Koumas continues to shine
The teenager enjoyed a fairytale senior debut for the Reds when he scored in the 3-0 FA Cup fifth-round win against Southampton last season.
That was the crowning achievement of a campaign that saw the youngster notch 15 goals and six assists across 24 matches at youth level.
He has impressed so far on loan in the Championship, with his goal on Saturday (7 September) possibly the most outstanding moment yet.

The Reds loanee broke down the right-hand side, timing his run perfectly to avoid being offside to latch onto a long ball.
His initial effort was saved but the Welsh forward showed remarkable composure to bend the rebound into the far corner with a stunning creative finish.
Slot will have no doubt been made aware of the five-cap Wales international’s latest exploit and he could find himself in the head coach’s plans when his loan spell is completed.
In other Liverpool news, another Reds youngster could make his senior debut sooner rather than later.
