View: Slot faces Danns transfer decision after Liverpool injury return
Liverpool face a decision on youth star Jayden Danns in the January transfer window after he returned from injury on Saturday.
The 18-year-old returned from a back problem suffered in the summer during the Under-21s’ 1-1 draw with Reading on 30 November.
He enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom last season under Jurgen Klopp but has not featured under new head coach Arne Slot due to the problem he endured during pre-season.
Now, the Reds have a decision to make, whether to integrate the young ace into the first-team or send him on loan to gain more experience at senior level.
Jayden Danns should leave Liverpool on loan
Reds boss Slot had a reputation at Feyenoord for giving chances to youth players and Danns will be hoping to get a chance to impress the Dutchman in the near future.
The youngster impressed when given a first-team chance under Klopp last season, scoring a brace in the FA Cup fifth-round against Southampton and nearly scoring an extra-time winner when he came off the bench in the Carabao Cup final victory.
He also bagged 22 goals in the youth ranks last year but has been hampered by an injury suffered in pre-season this campaign, when he was set to feature on the club’s US tour in the summer.
The young Scouser was reportedly set to go on loan to Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth in the summer but the back injury scuppered those plans [James Pearce, The Athletic, 15 October].

The Merseyside outfit may still plan to loan the young star out to continue his spectacular development, so the Pilgrims could possibly take advantage and resurrect their interest in January.
Learning under one of the greatest strikers the Premier League has ever seen and getting consistent game time would definitely benefit Danns, and he is physically ready for the Championship, so it is a win-win for both parties.
