Liverpool have announced Trent Alexander-Arnold has been withdrawn from the England squad ahead of the November international break.

Trent sustained a suspected hamstring issue in the 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday [9 November] and was subsequently replaced by Conor Bradley at Anfield after only 25 minutes of action.

The Reds have confirmed via X [11 November] that the full-back will remain on Merseyside throughout the international break.

How long will Trent Alexander-Arnold be out for Liverpool?

While sources close to the 25-year-old believe that he will not face an extended period on the sidelines [The Mirror], his removal from the England squad is a welcome boost for the club.

Liverpool will host Real Madrid and Manchester City at Anfield in the same week soon after club football resumes and, Arne Slot will need his regular starters fit and available for what is gearing up to be the most decisive week of the campaign.

Conor Bradley has returned to the first team fold as of late, and while the young full-back can provide a healthy rotation option for Trent ahead of a hectic run-in to the New Year, he should not be trusted to start the decisive matches.

Trent is facing an uncertain future at Anfield with Real Madrid waiting to pounce should he opt to leave his boyhood club upon the expiry of his contract but the Reds have the perfect opportunity to sway his decision.

The Reds are sat five points adrift at the top of the Premier League heading into the international break and, lead the Champions League league phase.

Should Slot continue his record-breaking form on Merseyside, the side could be eight points clear of Manchester City and be in a comfortable position to finish top in the Champions League at the beginning of December.

Trent has been vocal about his desire to win trophies fuelling his decision on where he will play his football next term - Liverpool must convince him that he can still compete for the biggest honours at Anfield.
