Liverpool Women ace Mia Enderby named in England U19 Euro squad

Liverpool Women forward Mia Enderby has received a call up to the England Squad for the U19 Euros.

The club wrote on their official website (8 July) that Enderby will feature for England at the tournament, which starts this month.

Enderby has scored three goals in five games for her country at the age level, which all came in last year’s U19 Euros in Belgium.

England will face France, Lithuania and Serbia in Group A of the competition.

The 19-year-old finished the Women’s Super League campaign in strong form for the Reds in the back-end of the season.

Enderby started the final four WSL matches last season including the wins over Chelsea and Manchester United.

She didn’t register a goal in the WSL in her debut season but showed plenty of promise as she forced herself into Matt Beard’s side.

At the beginning of the season she assisted Marie Höbinger’s winner in the 2-1 victory against Leicester in November.

She will need to impress for England at the U19 Euro’s following the club’s record-breaking signing of Olivia Smith from Sporting CP (liverpoolfc.com, 2 July).

Smith is not the only attacker Beard is targeting this summer (liverpoolfc.com, 4 July) as the club aim to push on from their third place finish in the WSL last term.

Enderby will have her work cut out for her if she is to retain her place in the side and has the perfect platform to impress at the U19 Euros.

The signing of Smith means the Reds now have seven U21 stars in their squad for next season as Beard builds a side ready for the present and the future.

All eyes will be on Enderby to add to her impressive England record and to win the competition for a second time in their history.
