Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton is attracting interest from West Ham, according to Alex Crook.

The talkSPORT reporter claimed (30 January) that the Hammers admire the 22-year-old but no contact has been made yet.

The academy graduate is not a part of Arne Slot's plans and has featured just five times for the Reds this campaign with no appearances in the Premier League.

Tyler Morton should leave Liverpool

There is no doubt about the former Hull City loanee's talent, that is why he has made 14 appearances for the Anfield outfit across his time on Merseyside.

Former Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said that Morton had an "outstanding football brain" in quotes reported by TNT Sports following the EFL Cup win over Preston in October 2021.

The player is open to leaving the Merseysiders to secure regular first-team football, admitting that it was time to make a "selfish" decision on his future after the 4-0 win over Accrington. [LFCTV]

The England Under-21 ace is at an age where it is paramount to be playing senior football every week and given that Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo are ahead of him in the pecking order, it is unlikely to come at Anfield.

If the Hammers choose to advance on their interest in the next few days, it is very likely that Morton will depart.
