Liverpool have finally agreed a deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Isak has been on strike at Newcastle since refusing to travel on the club's pre-season tour, with Liverpool being his preferred choice of destination.

Newcastle had maintained a not-for-sale stance for Isak for most of the summer, with Liverpool seeing a £110million opening bid rejected at the start of August.

However, Newcastle have changed their stance and agreed a fee with Liverpool, and the fee has Geordie fans seething.

Liverpool get £25m discount on Alexander Isak

Newcastle's valuation of Isak all summer has been quoted at £150m, a fee that Liverpool were unwilling to pay.

However, David Ornstein has reported that the fee agreed between the two clubs is as low as £125m, with Newcastle set to receive an extra £5m through solidarity rules.

Liverpool were said to have been taken aback by the Magpies' response to their opening bid, feeling they had valued him at an acceptable price.

However, their tactics have paid off as they've secured a huge discount on the deal to sign the Swedish superstar, while Newcastle have less than 12 hours to source another striker, with Yoane Wissa linked.

Newcastle fans vent their anger at the board

Newcastle fans have slowly accepted that Isak needed to leave the club as the window has progressed, with the toxicity growing within the fanbase.

In their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, Newcastle fans chanted anti-Isak songs throughout the game to voice their frustration, and that anger has only grown.

However, they had trust in their board to get the £150m fee they valued him at, but the hierarchy has failed them.

The Magpies board have been under criticism this summer for a lack of control over Eddie Howe, with no sporting director in the building all summer after Paul Mitchell's departure.

The Reds have fleeced Newcastle, and now their fans need to turn their attention towards their cowardly board.
