Liverpool are reportedly on the cusp of securing the permanent transfer of Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving, the Reds are in the hunt to sign a replacement for the England international.

Conor Bradley is still at the club but it's understood that they're looking at a first-choice option for next season.

Frimpong's move to Anfield is 99 per cent done

According to Sebastien Vidal, Liverpool have secured an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Frimpong by triggering his release clause.

The Dutchman is eager to join the Reds and has verbally agreed to a four-year contract at Anfield.

Negotiations are nearly complete, with only agent commissions and bonuses being the two things that are left to finalise.

The transfer is considered 99% done, signalling a near-certain move.

This deal positions Frimpong as a key addition to Liverpool’s squad, as Arne Slot wanted to sign a Trent replacement.

Liverpool will undoubtedly benefit from signing Frimpong

Frimpong’s potential signing would be a major boost for the Reds, as the 24-year-old Bayer Leverkusen right-back aligns seamlessly with Slot’s attacking, high-energy system.

His ability to surge forward and contribute creatively makes him ideal for supporting Liverpool’s wingers like Mohamed Salah, while his defensive awareness ensures reliability in transition.

At 24, Frimpong is in his prime, offering a long-term solution.

His experience in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga-winning campaign proves he can thrive under pressure, fitting Liverpool’s ambitions for domestic and European success.

Frimpong’s blistering pace and versatility to operate as a wing-back or winger provide tactical flexibility, enhancing Liverpool’s dynamic pressing style.

His infectious energy and work rate will resonate with Anfield’s passionate fans, fostering a strong connection.

The Dutchman's arrival could redefine Liverpool’s right flank, adding flair and resilience to sustain their pursuit of Premier League and Champions League glory.
