Supercomputer predicts Liverpool result vs Galatasaray in Champions League

Liverpool will need to be at their best to get all three points against Galatasaray on Tuesday.

Liverpool are wounded after losing 2-1 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, as the Reds were on the receiving end of a late winner after Federico Chiesa's controversial second-half equaliser.

Galatasaray will hope their home crowd will get them over the line in the Champions League and will be boosted by the return of Victor Osimhen from injury.

Hugo Ekitike is available again after serving his suspension for a red card against Southampton for taking his shirt off, with Alexander Isak expected to return to the substitutes' bench.

Liverpool favourites to beat Galatasaray

Liverpool have previously had issues in Turkey, winning just once there in their history, which came in 2010 via a 2-1 victory at Trabzonspor.

Arne Slot's side have struggled to perform so far this season, needing a staggering six winning goals after the 83rd minute in eight games.

However, Liverpool are expected to play up to their title as favourites for the Champions League and take care of business in Istanbul.

According to Opta's supercomputer, the Reds are massive favourites to beat the Turkish Champions on Tuesday night, given a 55.8 per cent chance of picking up three points.

Galatasaray have been given a 22.2 per cent chance of causing a massive upset on matchday two, while a draw is predicted at just 22 per cent.

Liverpool need to navigate tough away games to prove credentials

Last season, Slot's side were given what could be considered a fairly favourable away run in the league stage, with trips to AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Girona and PSV allowing the Reds to pick up nine points en route to finishing top.

This season, however, is completely different, with daunting trips to Galatasaray, Eintracht Frankfurt, Inter Milan and Marseille on the cards for fans of the Anfield outfit.

Although strength-wise, it may look very similar to last season, the atmospheres at these grounds could become intimidating for what is becoming a younger Liverpool side.

If the Reds can come out of this run unscathed, then their Champions League dream looks closer to becoming a reality.
