Liverpool have new ‘major Alisson concern’ after injury latest emerges
Liverpool will be without Alisson between the sticks for longer than expected.
Alisson left the field in Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Galatasaray, and was replaced by Giorgi Mamardashvili in the 56th minute.
Liverpool were without Alisson for the defeat to Chelsea on 4 October, but the Georgian was not the issue at Stamford Bridge.
Arne Slot may have to rely on the former Valencia goalkeeper more often after a new concern emerged from Anfield.

Liverpool have concern over Alisson’s future
Alisson’s absence was confirmed by Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who said that the 32-year-old could be out beyond the international break
Dr Rajpal Brar, an expert in physical therapy and conditioning, exclusively told Liverpool News that the Reds may have further concerns after the extent of the Brazil star’s injury was made clear.
He said: “We have some more information on this now, as it’s been deemed a hamstring injury and he is expected to miss around six weeks.
“Based on that timeline, this sounds like a grade III (out of IV) hamstring tear.
“Alisson has an extensive history with hamstring injuries, and that will be the major concern for Liverpool because these tend to recur.”
That will not be what Slot and Co would have wanted to hear.
Alisson needs to return quickly for Liverpool
The Reds need their starting keeper to return as soon as possible, although they will be keen not to rush him back into action.
Alisson is widely considered the best in the world in the position, and he constantly bails out the defence when they make mistakes.
- Alisson signed for the Reds in 2018 for a world record fee for a goalkeeper, around the £65million mark
- He has made 307 appearances, keeping 129 clean sheets
- He has played nine times this season, with two clean sheets
The longer he is out, and Mamardashvili has to fill in and learn behind a new defence, the worse it could be for Slot’s side’s hope of retaining their title.
Arsenal could well be out of sight by the time he is back, if his backup is not up to scratch over the long term.
