Alisson injury caused by Liverpool star who makes mistakes every week as footage emerges

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson went off injured in the 1-0 loss to Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.

The Reds were looking to build on their win over Atletico Madrid, but they ultimately were not good enough in Turkey on 30 September.

Liverpool should be aggrieved by Clement Turpin’s performance as referee, but they can have no complaints about the result, as the Sofascore graphic below highlights.

It went from bad to worse, as both Alisson and Hugo Ekitike left the field with injuries for Liverpool, and they could not find an equaliser.

Jamie Carragher shares who is at fault for Alisson injury

Ibrahima Konate has struggled for Liverpool this season, and he was at fault for the Brazil star getting injured.

That is according to Jamie Carragher, who slammed the defender live on air, in his post-match analysis after the contest.

Speaking on CBS Sports on 30 September, he said: “What happens here, he goes through Oshimen, the goalkeeper again who was outstanding saves another one-on-one.

“He gets injured, I don’t know what he has done, the injury comes from Konate again, this is happening every game.

“I’ve been a centre-back, I’ve made mistakes like that but he is making that mistake every game without fail.”

Footage showed that it was Konate‘s poor pass that led to Victor Oshimen getting the ball and forcing Alisson into the save that injured him.

Liverpool need Ibrahima Konate to step up

Konate was a reliable and formidable asset last season, forming a solid partnership with Virgil van Dijk after banishing his injury issues.

However, he has started the campaign in a poor run of form, barring the victories over Arsenal and Burnley, where he performed well.

There is increased pressure on the France star, as the Reds failed to sign Marc Guehi on deadline day, and Giovanni Leoni is out for a year, so he cannot afford to underperform.

The speculation surrounding a potential free transfer to Real Madrid has made him a target for supporters, and he needs to perform well; otherwise, obvious conclusions will be drawn that he is downing tools to earn that move.

Whether that is true or not, it does not necessarily matter, as it will be held against him, until the direction of his future is confirmed.

The Reds need Konate to step up, and get back to his usual performance levels, to bounce back from a dismal run which threatens to derail their season.
