Liverpool fans all blame one player for worrying Hugo Ekitike injury – ‘Shocking’

Liverpool were beaten away at Galatasaray in the Champions League and there are several concerns.

Victor Osimhen scored the only goal of Tuesday’s game, with Liverpool well below par in Istanbul, amid several controversial refereeing decisions.

Dominik Szoboszlai gave away a contentious penalty which was converted by Osimhen, and Liverpool had no response as they struggled in attack.

Hugo Ekitike missed several chances, and there was another worry as he came off with an apparent injury.

Liverpool fans blame Dominik Szoboszlai for Hugo Ekitike injury

Ekitike was withdrawn for Alexis Mac Allister in the 68th minute with what appeared to be a concerning injury.

This came after he stretched to receive a poorly placed pass from Szoboszlai, and fans have now pointed this out.

Szoboszlai has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season, but he was also poor on the night in Turkey, and his pass has now been slammed by supporters.

One said his pass in the build-up to the injury was “shocking”, while another said the injury was because Szoboszlai “can’t pass the ball 15 yards”.

Dominik Szoboszlai disappoints for Liverpool

Liverpool were poor to a man against Galatasaray, but Szoboszlai was particularly disappointing as he started at right-back.

The Turkish side found space on his side a lot, and found the breakthrough after the Hungarian gave a penalty.

Liverpool gave away 14 fouls to Galatasaray’s 12 as per Sofascore, while both sides managed four shots on target each, in a game in which Arne Slot’s side were below par.

With Liverpool also losing to Crystal Palace, this new injury to Ekitike comes at the wrong time as the Reds find themselves on the verge of a crisis.
