Liverpool fans blame personal issue as Arne Slot makes ‘utterly shameful’ decision for Galatasaray match
Liverpool face Galatasaray on Tuesday looking to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot was criticised after Liverpool’s first loss of the campaign, as he made a decision to play a new formation, and it backfired at Selhurst Park.
Focus now shifts to Liverpool’s pursuit of the Champions League, with a clash against the Turkish champions on 30 September.
The Anfield outfit will be looking to keep their 100 per cent record in Europe this season after beating Atletico Madrid last time out in the competition.

Arne Slot makes baffling Federico Chiesa decision for Liverpool vs Galatasaray
Slot confirmed that Federico Chiesa was added to the Liverpool squad for the competition after the ACL injury suffered by Giovanni Leoni.
However, the Italian winger, who scored the Reds’ only goal against the Eagles, has been left out of the squad to face the Istanbul outfit, in a baffling move.
James Pearce confirmed that it is not a fitness issue, and he is registered to play, so it is Slot’s decision to leave him out.
Chiesa has been one of Liverpool’s most dangerous players this season, as the graphic below from Sofascore shows.

Liverpool fans fume over Federico Chiesa absence vs Galatasaray
Reds supporters have been left asking what the point was in registering Chiesa, if Slot is just going to not include him in the squad anyway.
The decision feels strange, if there is no injury concern, as the former Juventus man scored the Reds’ only goal against Palace, and has been a much-improved version of the player who struggled last season.
One fan took to X to vent his frustration, saying: “Nice guys finish last. If he’d kicked up a stink like other players he’d be in the squad.”
Another X user commented: “How does chiesa not flip tables. He’s been our best player so far.”
Some supporters have speculated over whether the club want to sell the 27-year-old and wants to ensure that he is not cup-tied in the competition, which could rule out a move in the winter window.
Others think it is because he will start against Chelsea at the weekend, with two games in a week potentially proving too much for Chiesa.
Whatever the reason is, it is a strange call from the Dutchman, and one that could backfire against him, if the result does not go the right way for his side, as the Italian is one of his most in-form attackers at the moment.
