Liverpool ‘fleeced’ by Jeremie Frimpong as fans rage after loss vs Crystal Palace
Liverpool fell to their first defeat of the Premier League season as they were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Federico Chiesa thought he had rescued a point with a late equaliser before Eddie Nketiah scored a last-gasp winner, to cap off a miserable day in which Liverpool were second best.
Summer signing Florian Wirtz struggled to make an impact again, while the Liverpool defence was reliant on Alisson to make some superb saves after they were repeatedly carved open.
Arne Slot made several changes to his line-up, but another one of Liverpool’s summer signings was particularly disappointing, and fans were not happy with Jeremie Frimpong.

Liverpool fans furious at Jeremie Frimpong after Crystal Palace loss
Frimpong started on the bench, with Conor Bradley ahead of him at right-back, but the Dutchman came on as a substitute to try and impact the game.
However, the right-back had a woeful cameo appearance and was dispossessed several times, as Nketiah’s winning goal came from his side.
Frimpong has struggled to settle at Liverpool since his move from Leverkusen, and some fans have now criticised him following the Palace defeat.
“We got fleeced with frimpong and he was only £29m,” one fan posted on X.

Arne Slot has right-back dilemma at Liverpool
Frimpong has struggled since his arrival, and Bradley has been struck down by injuries in recent months before his start against Palace.
Dominik Szoboszlai has been superb at right-back, and the Hungarian could perhaps continue in his role given that he is in the best form of the trio.
Slot has a dilemma, though, as this would mean that Szoboszlai would be taken out of midfield, and there would be a concern over Frimpong if he is already dropped consistently within months of his arrival.
Frimpong was outstanding as a wing-back at Bayer Leverkusen, but it remains to be seen if he can perform comfortably as a right-back in Slot’s system.
