Jamie O’Hara makes brutal Liverpool assessment, shares exactly what they looked like vs Crystal Palace

Liverpool were stunned by Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

Arne Slot’s side lost 2-1 in a shock defeat to Palace, which could’ve been a lot worse if it wasn’t for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson making heroic saves.

The Premier League has issued a statement on Liverpool versus Palace, after major VAR controversy late on that ultimately did not define the game.

Slot has a chance to get back to winning ways as Liverpool play Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

However, the Reds will have to up their game big-time if they are to come away with the win in Turkey, as Jamie O’Hara has ripped into Liverpool after their poor outing against Palace.

Jamie O’Hara slams Liverpool and Arne Slot as ‘league one level’ vs Crystal Palace

Liverpool were below their usual standards against Palace, as the latter have recorded their second win over Slot’s side in a matter of weeks.

Liverpool may be forced to go back in for Marc Guehi after speculation of Ibrahima Konate to Real Madrid is growing, as Guehi provided the match-winning assist for the Eagles on Saturday.

O’Hara slammed Liverpool’s performance live on talkSPORT on Saturday evening, despite the Reds remaining top of the table.

“I’m watching Palace, I’m going, ‘God they’re on fire’, Every time I looked, Palace were having a shot on goal or creating a chance.

“I was thinking, ‘Who are they playing?’ They were playing Liverpool! It was like they were playing a League One side with how much [Palace] were creating.”

O’Hara’s assessment may have been harsh, but the truth remains that Slot’s team must improve for an important couple of weeks coming up for the club.

Liverpool and Arne Slot face guessing game vs Chelsea

Enzo Maresca is in trouble at Chelsea, which could either be an advantage or a disadvantage for Liverpool ahead of the pair’s clash next Saturday.

The “new manager bounce” could work against Liverpool should Maresca be sacked ahead of the game.

On top of this, Liverpool will have to play a guessing game of how Maresca’s team might lineup and play if he is still head coach when the sides meet, with his current system clearly not working.

Should Maresca stick with his same playing style, Liverpool would surely be the favourites in what would be a big game to bounce back.
