How much Rio Ngumoha will earn after new Liverpool contract announcement
Rio Ngumoha has committed his future to Liverpool.
Liverpool poached Ngumoha from Chelsea in 2024, leading to furious scenes at the academy level, but the move has worked out for the 17-year-old.
He has featured five times for the Reds and became Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer with his late winner at Newcastle in August.
Real Madrid were looking to steal the Liverpool gem, but he has decided to stay on Merseyside for the foreseeable future.
Rio Ngumoha secures significant pay rise with new Liverpool deal
Ngumoha’s new contract at Liverpool will be heavily incentivised, but his new basic weekly wages are widely reported to be around the £1,200-a-week mark.
That is a marked increase on the £300-per-week youth contract that was understood to have been on beforehand.
The figure will be around £62,400-per-year, which means over the three year deal, the Reds will end up paying approximately £187,200 as a base rate.
That does not take into account any potential incentives, which are not likely to be known, apart from by Ngumoha and his representatives.

Liverpool will be very happy to pay Rio Ngumoha that amount
If the reported wages are correct, the Reds will be very pleased to pay the former Chelsea youth star that amount.
It is a measly figure, compared to the vast amounts that the likes of Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Virgil van Dijk are picking up.
- January 11 2025: Senior debut in 4-0 FA Cup win against Accrington Stanley
- July/August 2025: Notched two goals and two assists in pre-season
- August 25 2025: Scores first senior goal in all competitions with a late winner against Newcastle
- September 17 2025: Makes Champions League debut in 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid
The L4 outfit may be more concerned by how much they will have to pay the Stamford Bridge club, as the two sides have not been able to agree on a fee.
Therefore, the matter will go a tribunal, and the Merseysiders could be forced to fork out a multi-million pound sum, like they did for Harvey Elliott after they signed him from Fulham.
However much that is, it looks like being worth it, given Ngumoha’s recent exploits.
