Chelsea furious over Liverpool’s ‘generational talent’ Rio Ngumoha after latest developments
Rio Ngumoha has made a huge impression in Arne Slot’s Liverpool side so far this season.
The youngster scored his first goal in August, netting a 100th-minute winner as Liverpool beat Newcastle United 3-2 at St James’ Park.
And in doing so, Ngumoha became the youngest Liverpool scorer ever, beating Michael Owen’s previous record by almost five months.
And there was further history made last week, when Ngumoha became Liverpool’s youngest ever player to feature in European competition after coming off the bench against Atletico Madrid.
The 17-year-old is expected to be handed his first competitive start of the season when the Reds face Southampton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Chelsea fume at Rio Ngumoha development
Liverpool signed Ngumoha from Chelsea last year, after convincing the youngster that his development would be better served in the North.
Despite the Reds’ status as Premier League champions, decision-makers at Anfield felt they could convince the winger that there was a better path to the first team in Slot’s team, and those efforts proved successful.
And Ngumoha has been vindicated in making that choice so far, appearing in four Liverpool matches and being named over Federico Chiesa in the Champions League squad.
There is no doubt that Chelsea have inducted plenty of young talents into their first team over the past years, but the frankly ridiculous amount of wingers at Stamford Bridge would have surely ruled against Ngumoha getting the chance he wanted.

The Blues currently have seven natural wide men on their books, with Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens and Estevao arriving this past summer.
And that is not to mention Cole Palmer and Facundo Buonanotte, who could also play the position if called upon.
The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday that Chelsea were furious at the loss of Ngumoha, with decision-makers believing that they have lost a “generational talent” who is and will be worth far more than any fee determined by a tribunal.

Liverpool take advantage of poor Chelsea planning
It is easy to see why Ngumoha wanted out of the chaotic situation that takes place every time Chelsea enter a transfer window.
The Blues have seemingly made it their mission to scour the globe, signing every single player who shows even the slightest ounce of talent.
Whilst that transfer strategy has earned Chelsea significant revenue, they have paid the ultimate price by losing hold of one of the best, who was sitting right under their noses.
