Liverpool fans will love what Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele said about them earlier this year

Liverpool have enjoyed a thrilling start to the season with six straight wins and plenty of late goal drama.

Liverpool are now nailed-on favourites for the Premier League title after a perfect start to the campaign.

Fellow title-chasing rivals Arsenal and Manchester City gifted Liverpool the perfect weekend when the pair drew 1-1 on Sunday, just after Liverpool beat Everton in the Merseyside Derby.

Arne Slot will hope his side continues their fine form on Tuesday night, as Liverpool host Southampton at Anfield in the Carabao Cup.

Slot is looking to create something special at Anfield, and even Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele has taken notice.

Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele recognizes Liverpool as a ‘tough’ opponent

On Monday night, star man Mohamed Salah fell short at the Ballon d’Or Awards to Dembele, who helped knock out the Reds from the Champions League last year.

Ahead of PSG’s last-16 clash with Liverpool last year, Dembele acknowledged the tough task ahead for him and his side. “I know it’s going to be a tough Champions League match.

“We know Liverpool finished first, and they’re also leading the league. It’s going to be a great game—we’re confident, they are too, and it’s going to be an exciting spectacle.”, as quoted by PSG Talk.

The Reds have made exciting new signings this year, with Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak ready to be unleashed for Liverpool.

Dembele regarded PSG vs Liverpool as a ‘spectacle’ last season, and if the sides were to meet this year, it would bring even more eyes.

Liverpool could still meet PSG and Dembele in this year’s Champions League knockout stages

After starting the league campaign perfectly, Liverpool carried their momentum into their first Champions League game when they beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 at Anfield.

PSG also started their Champions League defence in good stead when they thumped Atlanta 4-0 at home.
