Arne Slot shares Alexander Isak update ahead of Liverpool vs Everton
Liverpool host Everton in a highly anticipated Merseyside derby on Saturday.
Liverpool sit top of the Premier League, with a perfect record after four matches in Arne Slot’s second season.
However, David Moyes‘ side are also in great form and are unbeaten in their last three league matches, so it will be a tense encounter.
Alexis Mac Allister and Conor Bradley could come into the Liverpool line-up, as Slot seeks to gain an advantage over the Toffees.

Arne Slot shares injury update ahead of Liverpool vs Everton
Alexander Isak’s Liverpool fitness has dominated the narrative ahead of the derby, and he was one of several players that Slot shared updates about.
He also mentioned that Curtis Jones was back, in a very positive injury report for the clash against the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit.
In his pre-match press conference on 19 September, Slot said: “What I do know is Alex felt his body maybe more than ever before after the 60 minutes that he played, let’s see how he’s recovered.
“We will think about the lineup later today.
“He [Jones] is back in the squad, I would say.”
Liverpool need to beat Everton at Anfield
If the Reds are to retain their league title, they need to beat the likes of the Blues at home.
Moyes has them on a decent run of form, but Slot’s side are a level above, and they need to show it when the sides meet, and put them back in their place.
Moyes also has a dismal record at Anfield, failing to win in 23 matches during his spells with the Blues, West Ham, Sunderland and Manchester United, which should benefit the L4 outfit.
- Liverpool finished first in the 2024/25 season, the Blues finished in 13th place
- The Reds notched 84 points, the Toffees ended up on 48
- That is a difference of 36 points between the sides
Slot does not have many injury issues to deal with, so he should be able to name a near full-strength squad for the contest.
If the Reds can come away with all three points, ideally in a comfortable fashion, rather than another late winner, which seems to be customary at the moment, it would be a great result.
It would put a real marker down on their title challenge and send a message to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, taking down an in-form Toffees side.
