Liverpool told they have ‘young Erling Haaland’ in their ranks amid scary new reveal
Liverpool have been working hard to overhaul their youth ranks in recent years.
Fenway Sports Group have tried to revolutionise the academy and Liverpool’s youngsters are set to benefit from a £20million upgrade in the future.
Liverpool have signed the likes of Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni from Chelsea and Leicester, and they have not shown any signs of slowing down in their youth recruitment lately.
Liverpool nabbed Will Wright from Salford City this summer, beating Arsenal to the 17-year-old’s signature, but they already have another attacker catching the eye.

Liverpool may have a new youth star; he has been compared to Erling Haaland
Liverpool have a wealth of promising talents at their disposal, and another may have emerged.
A report from the Daily Mail on 18 September claims that Harrison O’Brien scored six goals in a 7-1 win over Stoke Under-15’s last week.
It states that a source they spoke with labelled the academy talent as a “young Erling Haaland”, who is scary good.

Liverpool need to be patient with their youth
The rise of Ngumoha, and to a lesser extent, Nyoni, into the Reds’ first-team picture has perhaps skewed expectations of their youth players.
They need to be given time to develop and not be rushed into the senior ranks before they are ready, as it will only result in injuries or expectations being too high.
- Slot has shown he is not scared to give youth a chance
- Ngumoha has featured three times this season already
- He notched a last-gasp winner against Newcastle in the 100th minute of a 3-2 win
Considering he is in the Under-15s, it seems like it will be a long time before O’Brien is anywhere near the Anfield first-team, but he is certainly one to keep an eye on.
He signed for the Reds 18 months ago from the 7 Elite Academy, after he scored 24 goals in six matches in one month.
He cannot be burdened with big expectations at this point, but being compared to one of the greatest strikers in the Premier League suggests that he has big potential.
Whether he can fulfil it on Merseyside or not remains to be seen.
