Alan Shearer still bitter over Alexander Isak transfer after Liverpool vs Burnley reaction
Alan Shearer is still not over Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool.
Isak joined Liverpool in a £125million deal on deadline day, to complete a protracted saga that ruined his relationship with the Newcastle fans.
Isak refused to play in order to seal his Liverpool dream, and that led to plenty of criticism from Shearer in the media.
Judging by his reaction to the Reds’ 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday, it seems as though the Premier League‘s record goalscorer still holds a grudge.

Alan Shearer refuses to name Alexander Isak after Liverpool win
Liverpool needed a last-gasp Mohamed Salah penalty to get past the Clarets at Turf Moor and extend their 100 per cent league start.
Shearer believes that they will be happy with the fact that they have won all their matches without playing well, and they still have Isak to come in.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast on 15 September, he said: “I would be extremely happy if I were them, they have not played well at all, yet they have won four games out of four.
“And they have got a £125million centre-forward to come in as well.”
Gary Lineker responded, saying: “Who’s that, Al?”
Shearer said: “Forgot his name, I’m not sure.”
Alexander Isak has moved on; Newcastle should do the same
There is no point being sour about Isak’s exit, especially after the Magpies have got Nick Woltemade through the door.
For starters, Isak got them a British record fee; it is not like he played poorly to reduce his value or cost the money.
- Isak played 109 times for Newcastle
- He scored 62 goals and notched 11 assists for the St James’ Park club
- Isak scored the winner against Liverpool at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final
He deserved the chance to move on to a bigger club with more chances of winning the biggest trophies after helping Eddie Howe’s side to their first trophy since 1969.
Both sides should now move on from the saga, as it is over, and Isak has gotten the move that he desired.
The fact that Shearer refused to name him is just childish, as Isak is far from the first player to force a move away from a club, and Yoane Wissa did the same to move to the Magpies.
Look at Marc Guehi, he behaved how a player is supposed to and did not get his move to the Reds.
