Sunderland fans furious as Premier League make Liverpool announcement

Liverpool are the only team with a perfect record in the Premier League so far this season, and have now received recognition.

While the Reds have not been at their total best, they have won all of their games with late winners, and again, Liverpool sit on top of the Premier League.

Wins against Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal all came with dramatic moments, with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring an outstanding free kick to give Liverpool a huge boost in the title race.

Arne Slot won the title in his first season and has now been awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month award for August, but not everyone is happy.

Sunderland fans outraged as Arne Slot wins Premier League award

Slot has been named the first manager of the month this season, as the only coach who has won all of his games, but there were several strong candidates.

Newly-promoted Sunderland have punched above their weight so far, and manager Regis Le Bris has won two of his three top-flight games in charge.

Sunderland fans believe that the Frenchman should have won the award instead of Slot, with Le Bris performing above expectations, while Liverpool left it late to win all of their games.

Their fans have taken to X, claiming that Le Bris was “robbed” and that he deserved the award in his first campaign in the competition over the Liverpool manager.

Arsenal victory handed Arne Slot Premier League award

Sunderland fans may have a fair point that they have performed above expectations, while Liverpool’s performances have been far from convincing overall.

However, the 100 per cent win rate, as well as the quality of the opposition, have meant that the award was awarded to Slot. Liverpool won away at Newcastle and beat their main title rivals in head-to-head clashes.

Liverpool were poor in the first half against Arsenal, but dug in to secure all three points, and had they not beaten the Gunners, Slot may not have beaten Le Bris to the award.

However, they did, so welcome back to the big table, Sunderland fans.
