Real Madrid suffer brutal Antonio Rudiger blow ahead of Liverpool showdown

Liverpool have received a boost ahead of their clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Arne Slot‘s side will face plenty of tests in the Premier League before they face the side that now employs ex-Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool are favourites for the Champions League trophy, after bringing in the likes of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.

Madrid cannot be discounted, though, but when the sides do face off at Anfield, the Reds will already have an advantage.

Antonio Rudiger new injury revealed ahead of Liverpool clash

Liverpool fans will want to get revenge on Madrid over their exhaustive pursuit of Alexander-Arnold, Alexis Mac Allister and now Rio Ngumoha.

They may have a huge chance, as Antonio Rudiger is set to miss the contest between the sides on 4 November in a brutal blow for the Spaniards.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 12 September that the former Chelsea defender was set for three months on the sidelines, with an anterior rectus injury to his left leg, which could keep him out until December.

Alexander Isak will fancy his chance against Rudiger-less Real Madrid

Isak will be keen to make a good impression on the Reds supporters after securing his dream move to Merseyside on deadline day.

It may take him a few weeks to get back to full fitness after he missed a huge chunk of pre-season and the first three weeks of the league campaign.

However, by the time that Los Blancos travel to face Slot’s side, he should be fit and firing, and he will fancy his chances of making a big impact with Rudiger’s absence.

The German is regarded as one of the best in world football, so it will be a huge blow to Xabi Alonso, if he is missing for a large part of their European campaign.

The likes of Eder Militao, Dean Huijsen and David Alaba are strong defenders, but Rudiger is seen as the key piece defensively for the 15-time Champions League winners.

Isak will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing a Rudiger-less Madrid side under the lights in L4.
