When Stefan Bajcetic is set to return to action for Liverpool

Liverpool gem Stefan Bajcetic has struggled to work his way into Arne Slot’s plans.

Bajcetic was expected to play a role in Liverpool’s pre-season campaign, but he did not get his chance to impress the Dutchman.

Bajcetic underwent hamstring surgery at the end of May, after spending last season on loan with RB Salzburg and Las Palmas.

Liverpool decided not to sell Bajcetic in the transfer window, which suggests that they rate him highly, despite his recent setbacks.

Stefan Bajcetic injury return timeline emerges for Liverpool

Liverpool have given Bajcetic the chance to revive his career at Anfield, now he needs to take it.

A report from the Daily Mail on 11 September claims he is getting closer to joining full training sessions and is expected to feature for Rob Page‘s Under-21 side initially.

It states that they face Manchester United next, a week on Sunday, and hints at it being Bajcetic’s comeback game.

Liverpool could use Stefan Bajcetic this season

Bajcetic has not had much luck since he broke into the first-team in the 2022/23 season, and made 11 Premier League appearances under Jurgen Klopp.

He has since suffered from several injuries, making just three more appearances for the L4 outfit, and his loan spell at Salzburg last season ended up with him playing just seven times.

His spell in the Canary Islands, was much better, as he featured 14 times for Los Amarillos in the second half of the campaign.

Bajcetic could allow Slot to rest Ryan Gravenberch if he can get over his injury problems and get up to speed with his system.

It could save Fenway Sports Group millions in the market, if the 20-year-old can prove to be a regular option for the Reds.

It is telling that Slot has decided to keep him around, when several Spanish clubs were interested in taking him on loan, hopefully he can shake his issues and show the potential that was clear when he broke onto the scene.
