Liverpool news round-up: Reds eye Neymar protege as Jamie Carragher title fears emerge
Liverpool return to Premier League action against Burnley on Sunday.
Arne Slot‘s Reds have started their title defence with a perfect record, winning all three of their opening matches.
The signing of Alexander Isak has dominated the headlines recently, but there is plenty going on around the Merseyside club ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.
Here, Liverpool News rounds up the latest from the Anfield outfit on 11 September.

When Stefan Bajcetic could return for Liverpool
Stefan Bajcetic could be set to return for Liverpool in the coming weeks.
A report from the Daily Mail on 11 September claims that the Spaniard will return to full training soon and is expected to initially join the Under-21s.
It states that their next match is Manchester United, a week on Sunday, and hints that it could see a return for the 20-year-old, who has spent the summer out after hamstring surgery.

Jeff Stelling believes Liverpool will smash Burnley record
Liverpool will smash a Burnley record when the sides meet on Sunday, according to Jeff Stelling.
The former Sky Sports presenter believes that the Reds will end the Clarets’ record of 25 home matches without loss.
Speaking to talkSPORT in a predictions video posted to their X account on 11 September, he said: “Sunday at two o’clock sees Liverpool try to maintain their 100 per cent record at Burnley.
“Now, Burnley’s last home defeat was April 2024, 25 games in all competitions ago, the problem is they don’t face Liverpool at Turf Moor every week.
“When they do, they lose. Liverpool have won their last six visits, and I think they will maintain that 100 per cent record this season.
“I can only see an away win here.”
Liverpool eyeing move for Neymar protege
Liverpool want to sign Robinho Jr from Santos, according to a report from the Daily Mail on 11 September.
The report claims that Anfield scout Dassler Marques has attended several of the Brazilian outfit’s matches to watch the son of former Manchester City and Real Madrid ace Robinho, who has a £43million release clause.
It states that Neymar has been a mentor to the 17-year-old and would fit the Reds’ strategy of buying the best young stars.
Jamie Carragher shares Liverpool title fear
Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool’s failed pursuit of Marc Guehi could haunt them in their title challenge.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that the Reds could now be in trouble if they are without Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konate, after they did not get the England star.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast on 11 September, the Anfield icon said: “There’s three games in, they’ve got nine points out of nine, probably not played that well, so we’d probably all say big favourites, Liverpool.
“But that is the one area that could come back and blow up, I would imagine, in their face, because they haven’t really got – what Guehi was giving Liverpool competition at centre-back.
“They haven’t got that. They’ve got two starters and two understudies. Joe Gomez, injury-prone himself, and the young lad who’s only 18, I think, from Italy.
“Going to be a great prospect, but you think if one of them had to play for a couple of months, it’s a big difference.”
This could be revisited in January, no matter who the main target is.
