Burnley vs Liverpool: Supercomputer predicts result of Premier League clash

Liverpool are looking to extend their 100 per cent start to the season against Burnley on Sunday.

Arne Slot‘s Liverpool side looks on course to retain their Premier League title after beating Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal, but they need to be careful on 14 September.

Alexander Isak signed for Liverpool on deadline day, but his inclusion in the starting line-up at Turf Moor is not guaranteed as he has not played yet this season.

Liverpool could go unchanged from the side that beat the Gunners, through a stunning Dominik Szoboszlai freekick before the international break.

Liverpool predicted to ease past Burnley

The Isak dilemma will be a prominent one for Liverpool, but whether he starts or not, they are expected to beat the Clarets.

The Opta Supercomputer gives the Reds a 69 per cent chance of victory, while the hosts are handed just a 13.9 per cent chance.

A draw is the second most likely outcome for the contest at 17.1 per cent.

Arne Slot will expect his side to walk through Burnley

The clash with Scott Parker’s side should give Slot’s side a chance to build on their great defensive performance against the Gunners.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate have had a shaky start to the campaign, but they kept a clean sheet against Mikel Arteta’s charges.

They can take some credit, as they had a new full-back pairing in the opening game, before Szoboszlai was forced to play at right-back after Jeremie Frimpong was ruled out through injury.

Results against the bottom half sides will be just as crucial to those in the big matches, if the Reds are going to retain their crown.

They will be confident of doing so, after the early storm that they have overcame, but one negative result could change that, so they cannot overlook the Turf Moor outfit, especially after the break.

The newly-promoted side have nothing to lose by going for it, so Slot’s side needs to be extra cautious.
