Jayden Danns to justify Liverpool transfer decision after what he did on England duty
Jayden Danns could be set for involvement in Arne Slot’s Liverpool team this season after a difficult campaign last time out.
Liverpool decided against loaning Danns out on transfer deadline day, despite interest in the forward from several teams.
The 19-year-old broke into the first team in the 2023/24 season, scoring a brace for Jurgen Klopp’s team in an FA Cup clash against Southampton.
Danns was loaned out to Sunderland for the second half of last season, but an injury saw the England youth international’s move over before it ever began.
After several months on the medical table, Danns made his return for Liverpool against Preston North End in pre-season, and is now expected to play a part for the Reds this season.

Jayden Danns nets for England Under-20s
Danns scored for Liverpool Under-21s in their season-opener against Leicester City in the Premier League 2, and the forward has continued his strong start to the season.
Captaining England U20s in their match against Italy, the 19-year-old netted an equaliser for the home side after Lorenzo Ricco had opened the scoring.
Jamal Iddirissou’s goal saw the Three Lions slip to defeat on the night, but Danns can be happy to have picked up a goal.
Liverpool show faith in Jayden Danns
Danns is very highly rated at Anfield, but the forward must be managed after suffering with excessive injury issues last season.
The new campaign should provide a chance for the youngster to regain his fitness and start firing once more, and perhaps that is why Liverpool have decided to keep him put.
After the signings of Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, chances will be limited for Danns, but there will be chances.
Both strikers are expected to play together, which could leave Slot searching for a third option to play in the less challenging games of the Champions League group stage, as well as the cups.

Liverpool signed Will Wright in the summer, and the young striker is expected to stake his claim for future involvement in the first team.
But the forward is just 16 and can be expected to play most of his minutes in the youth teams.
The path should be clear for Danns to take up a spot behind Slot’s strikers, should he be able to keep his fitness in check for it.
Liverpool made a big call in keeping Danns at Anfield rather than loaning him out, but that may well be justified.
