Liverpool’s new squad value revealed after FSG smash record window spend
Liverpool smashed every spending record in the summer transfer window, in preparation for the defence of their Premier League title.
Deadline day saw the end of a summer-long saga when Liverpool signed Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for £125million, breaking the Premier League’s transfer record.
The Swede is expected to join Hugo Ekitike in attack, after the French forward arrived earlier in the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt for around £69m.
Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could reach £116m earlier in the summer, but that transfer record would last for just over two months.
Sales were key for decision-makers at Anfield, too, with Liverpool selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich for £65m as part of a host of departures which would amount to around £190m in incoming funds.

Liverpool enjoy 18% increase in squad value after historic summer
Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), want guaranteed success this season, aiming to compete in all four competitions after a league-winning first season for Arne Slot.
And their summer business certainly suggested as much. As well as breaking the Premier League transfer record twice, Liverpool set a new record for the highest amount of money spent by a single club in a single window.
The £419m spent by the Reds surpasses Chelsea’s £400m spent in the summer of 2023, and marks a clear signal of intent by decision-makers at Anfield.

And it could have been more, with Liverpool’s £35m move to Marc Guehi falling through in the closing stages of the window.

Where does Liverpool’s squad value rank in the Premier League?
According to figures calculated by Transfermarkt, Liverpool sit third in the squad value list for Premier League clubs.
Arsenal head the list, boasting a squad value of around £1.15bn – aided by the £130m market value of Bukayo Saka.
Premier League squad value:
- Arsenal – £1.15 billion
- Manchester City – £1.06 billion
- Liverpool – £973 million
- Chelsea – £937 million
- Tottenham – £773 million
And Manchester City sit just below, with a squad value of just over £1bn. Liverpool do hold a stronger figure than Chelsea and Tottenham, who both come in at under £950m.
