Brentford vs Liverpool kick-off moved to bizarre time – here’s why
Liverpool have announced that their October clash against Brentford has been moved by the Premier League.
It has been a strong start to the season for Arne Slot’s men. Liverpool beat Arsenal 1-0 at Anfield on Sunday, to make it three wins from the opening three.
Dominik Szoboszlai scored a stunning free kick for the Reds on a stunning individual performance, despite being played at right-back.
And off the pitch, Liverpool signed Alexander Isak from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day to complete what was a sensational summer window.
Liverpool hoped to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, but the deal fell apart in the final hours of the window.
Now, all eyes will return to the Premier League.

Liverpool vs Brentford moved to 8pm Saturday kick-off
Isak is expected to go straight into Liverpool’s starting XI when the Swede returns from the international break for his debut.
Up next for Slot’s side will be Burnley at Turf Moor on 14 September, before the Champions League campaign kicks off against Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool’s Champions League draw also contains games against Real Madrid and Inter Milan, in what was a tricky group stage draw for the Reds.
Liverpool’s next five | Date |
Burnley (A) | 14 September |
Atletico Madrid (H) | 17 September |
Everton (H) | 20 September |
Southampton (H) | 23 September |
Crystal Palace (A) | 27 September |
There is also a return to Eintracht Frankfurt on the cards for Hugo Ekitike, following the striker’s £69million move from the German side to the Premier League.
That meeting will take place on 22 October, and its proximity to an away trip to Brentford on 25 October has caused the Premier League to make a bizarre decision.
Lewis Steele reported on Wednesday that the game will now be played at 8pm, rather than 12:30pm, a timeslot that is very rarely used.
Jürgen Klopp finally rewarded for historic grumbles
Jürgen Klopp made no secret of his hatred of the Premier League’s decision to frequently give Liverpool the Saturday 12:30 pm kick-off slot following his side’s participation in European competition.
The German’s constant mentioning of it in press conferences became somewhat of a classic, with the Reds subjected to the quick turnaround so often during his tenure.
Klopp described the slot as a “crime” to the media in 2024, and he will be pleased to see that the Premier League did take notice of his words, to some extent.
Liverpool are currently lined up to face Everton at 12:30 pm on 20 September, despite playing Atletico Madrid on the previous Wednesday.
