Fenway Sports Group latest masterclass emerges as Harvey Elliott Liverpool clause revealed
Fenway Sports Group have had a sensational summer as Liverpool owners.
The American owners and sporting director Richard Hughes had been criticised by Liverpool fans after spending just £12.5million on Federico Chiesa last summer.
However, Arne Slot’s side won the Premier League without many signings, and they have since reinforced their squad massively.
The likes of Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike were signed in a near £500million spending spree.

Liverpool allow Harvey Elliott to leave
Harvey Elliott left Liverpool to join Aston Villa in a loan-to-buy deal that was ultimately mutually beneficial to all parties.
The 22-year-old has joined the Villans on loan with a £35m obligation to buy, if the England Under-21 star makes over 10 appearances.
The Times journalist Paul Joyce revealed on 1 September that the Reds have a buyback clause and a sell-on clause.
Therefore, if they want Elliott back in the future, they will pay less than market value, and if they don’t take up that option, they will still make money if he leaves Villa to go elsewhere.

Fenway Sports Group have had a 10/10 window at Liverpool
The failed pursuit of Marc Guehi will cast a slight negative on the Reds’ transfer window, but ultimately, it was still an amazing summer.
Fenway Sports Group backed Slot with a total of approximately £450m, breaking the transfer record twice on Wirtz and then Isak.
However, they brought in a guaranteed £236m with the sales of Caoimhin Kelleher, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Jarell Quansah, Ben Doak and others, with a further potential £26m in add-ons attached to those deals.
There will be a lot of talk of how much the Anfield side has spent, but that discourse will conveniently neglect how much they have recouped from sales.
John Henry and Co. have been criticised in the past for not building on the Reds’ success with signings; it is safe to say that they have tried to do that this time.
Whether it comes off remains to be seen, but the Elliott clause and the rest of their window look like a masterclass.
