Liverpool negotiating Harvey Elliott exit, sale to Villa depends on one crucial point
Liverpool could sell Harvey Elliott to Aston Villa on transfer deadline day.
Elliott is keen to leave Liverpool, in order to play regular football, something which he has not been afforded under Arne Slot.
Elliott featured just 28 times last season for a total of 822 minutes in all competitions, but still had great moments, including a late goal in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
While the Reds would ultimately be eliminated from the Champions League in the return leg at Anfield, it was a reminder of the 22-year-old’s talent.

Harvey Elliott could leave Liverpool for Aston Villa
Elliott could leave Liverpool in a potential £50million deal, but there have been no official proposals launched yet.
The Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell reported on 1 September that the Villans were exploring a deal to sign Elliott.
He stated that the agreement would have to ensure that Unai Emery’s side complies with UEFA’s spending regulations.
Liverpool could regret Harvey Elliott sale
Obviously, it is in the best interest for all parties for Elliott to be playing regularly, and if he cannot get gametime at Liverpool, it makes sense to depart.
However, the Reds could regret letting him go, he is one of the most promising talents in English football, and still found ways to contribute last season, despite a lack of minutes.
- Elliott has played 149 times for the Reds
- He has notched 15 goals and 20 assists for the club
- Bagged five goals and three assists last season
With Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz ahead of him in the pecking order, it would be hard for him to secure what he needs on Merseyside, but it would still be a controversial sale, because supporters love him.
For starters, his talent is clear to see, and if given a significant role, he could break out and notch a ridiculous tally of contributions, which he has not been able to do yet due to the limited opportunities that have been handed to him.
Also, he is a boyhood Reds fan, which endears him even more to the Anfield faithful, as he is one of them, living out their dreams.
