Harvey Elliott is set to leave Liverpool for Aston Villa on deadline day.
Elliott will be leaving on an initial season-long loan, with an obligation to make the deal permanent for £35m next summer.
Aston Villa have endured a miserable window due to PSR restrictions for the second season in a row, but a deal for the midfielder will be seen as a masterstroke as they look to recover from their terrible early-season form.
Elliott – previously hailed as “special” by Neil Mellor – leaves Liverpool after 149 appearances for his boyhood club, registering 35 goal involvements in that time.
