Liverpool can seal Marc Guehi transfer as Crystal Palace seal deadline day agreement
Liverpool are running out of time to try and sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, but they may have just been handed a major boost.
Guehi may not be allowed to leave Crystal Palace without a replacement, and this would prevent Liverpool from signing him before the 7pm transfer deadline.
Ibrahima Konate came off injured against Arsenal, making a new centre-back even more of a necessity, and Liverpool will be frustrated if they cannot sign long-term target Guehi.
While a deal looked unlikely earlier this morning, as Palace had no Guehi replacement, there has now been a development which could allow his departure to be sanctioned.

Crystal Palace agree Igor Julio loan deal
Palace have been linked with Joe Gomez as a Guehi replacement, with a centre-back necessary to replace their captain, but they have now reached an agreement for a different player.
As reported by Charlie Parker-Turner, Palace have reached an agreement to sign Igor Julio on loan from rivals Brighton, with the central defender arriving as Guehi’s replacement.

Oliver Glasner claimed that Guehi could not leave as there was not enough time to find a new defender, but with Palace pulling ahead of West Ham for Julio, his departure could now be sanctioned.
Guehi is in the final year of his contract, and could end up joining Liverpool for free next year if his move does not materialise now, but if Julio does arrive at Selhurst Park, this could mean he is allowed to move to Anfield.

Liverpool need to secure Marc Guehi now
Liverpool have conceded four goals in their first three games, and Konate was criticised for his performances in the first two, before picking up an injury against Arsenal.
Guehi is needed both for depth as well as quality, with Konate’s form and future in doubt, and the 25-year-old would arrive ready to make an immediate impact.
Crystal Palace fans got to bid farewell to Guehi after he scored an outstanding goal in their victory over Aston Villa, but there was still uncertainty over whether a deal would happen.
Palace may be satisfied with Julio as a replacement, with the Brazilian an unexpected signing given that Brighton were willing to loan him to a direct rival.
All eyes are now on Guehi, could he join Alexander Isak at Anfield?
