‘I am told Alexander Isak deal is done’, Liverpool agree mega transfer fee with Newcastle

Liverpool have just two days to complete the signing of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Isak has been linked with the Premier League champions all summer, and Liverpool had a £110million bid rejected earlier this month.

Liverpool have sat back while the Swedish striker has tried to force a move, refusing to play for the Magpies and releasing a statement about broken promises on the night of the PFA awards ceremony.

The Reds are expected to launch a new offensive to sign the former Real Sociedad star before the deadline on 1 September.

Alexander Isak to Liverpool is a done deal

Liverpool are understood to be very optimistic when it comes to securing Isak’s signature, despite the limited time that they have.

Former Middlesbrough star turned journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft claimed on 30 August that a deal is done, with the Reds set to pay a mammoth fee for the striker.

Taking to his X account, the Norwegian said: “Understand Isak – deal is done!

“Newcastle away at Leeds tonight, so nothing expected before that I am told. Fee will be £130m

“Isak to Liverpool likely to happen very soon.”

Liverpool desperately need Isak deal

The Reds have Hugo Ekitike as their only senior option in the number nine position at the moment.

Jayden Danns is an option for Arne Slot, but he is inexperienced and has suffered with injuries recently, so should be allowed to focus on youth football.

They need to bring Isak through the door before the deadline, arguably even more than they need to bring in Marc Guehi.

The Isak timeline so far:

Isak’s goals could be the difference between retaining their league title or falling behind the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.

He has made it clear that he wants to join the L4 outfit, and they must get it done, otherwise it could come back to haunt them.

There seems to be no way back for Isak in Tyneside, so the Reds can pounce and complete a record deal to bring him to Merseyside.
