Liverpool fans all say same thing as shock Alexander-Arnold announcement made

Trent Alexander-Arnold is no doubt a controversial figure at Liverpool.

The academy graduate was once one of the most beloved players at Anfield and had won everything during his time at the Merseyside club.

However, Alexander-Arnold decided to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid this summer, which caused plenty of controversy.

Alexander-Arnold was booed by Liverpool fans during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last season after his exit was announced.

Now, despite it being months since his departure, it is safe to say that there is no love lost.

Liverpool fans laugh at Alexander-Arnold after failure to make the England squad

It is safe to say that the former Liverpool star has not had the best few days of his career.

Alexander-Arnold was dropped by Real Madrid for their match against Real Oviedo, prompting laughter from Reds fans online.

On top of this, Liverpool have been drawn against Real Madrid at Anfield in the Champions League, which will no doubt be a toxic return to the right-back.

Now, on 29 August, England announced their squad for the upcoming matches against Andorra and Serbia in their 2026 FIFA World Cup European qualifying campaign.

However, one notable absentee was Alexander-Arnold, who had failed to make the squad in a shock decision.

As a result, many Liverpool fans were quick to take to X to mock the 26-year-old for his omission.

Many now believe that his career will nosedive after leaving Liverpool, given the recent developments.

Alexander-Arnold had ruined his career leaving Liverpool

For a player who was about to hit his peak, Alexander-Arnold has no doubt made a massive mistake leaving Liverpool this summer.

It appears that the right-back is not the preferred option for Xabi Alonso, and is now at serious risk of not getting into the World Cup squad if England qualifies.

Alexander-Arnold could have made himself a legend at Liverpool and had a statue outside of Anfield.

Instead, the right-back will be hated by supporters for years and will likely waste a key part of his career at Real Madrid.
