Arne Slot gets it spot on as Liverpool plan for Stefan Bajectic emerges
Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic’s future has finally been confirmed.
Bajcetic spent the second half of last season on loan with Las Palmas after struggling with RB Salzburg.
Liverpool News exclusively revealed that three Spanish clubs wanted Bajcetic on a loan deal rather than a permanent Anfield exit.
However, it looks like Liverpool will give him a chance to revive his top-flight career after several brutal setbacks in the last few years.

Stefan Bajcetic set to stay at Liverpool
Bajcetic was set to be handed a fresh Liverpool chance by Arne Slot in pre-season, but hamstring surgery put those plans to bed.
However, it appears that he will still get an opportunity, as Paul Joyce reported on 27 August that the Spanish midfielder is set to stay on Merseyside.
He stated that the Reds want Bajcetic to remain, as Tyler Morton has left and James McConnell has joined Ajax on loan.
Arne Slot needs to give Bajcetic time to prove himself at Liverpool
Bajcetic is an immense talent; he proved that when he broke into the first-team fold under Jurgen Klopp in the 2022/23 season, making 11 league appearances.
However, a flurry of injury issues have plagued him in the following years, and he has made just three appearances for the L4 club since his breakthrough campaign.
He can be a genuine option for Slot if the Dutchman is willing to trust him and allow him a decent opportunity to forge a role in the squad.
Strengths:
- Ball retention and dribbling: Comfortable with the ball, can use his body to get out of dangerous situations
- Defensive awareness: Can read the game effectively and cut out passing lanes, and make tackles and interceptions
- Physicality: Great in the air, and boasts fast and strong reactions going either way
Weaknesses:
- Passing accuracy: Pass completion leaves something to be desired
- Duels: Can be forced off the ball too easily, due to his lightweight frame
- Injury history: Constant setbacks may have had a permanent impact on his development
He is one of the finest technical footballers at Slot’s disposal and could save Fenway Sports Group a fortune in the transfer market.
He is capable of playing in the number six and eight roles and will allow the Reds to rest the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
He has a huge ceiling; if he can get back to his best, he could be a huge asset for the Premier League champions as they try to retain their crown.
