Another remarkable Arne Slot stat emerges after Liverpool win vs Newcastle

Liverpool left it late to beat Newcastle United in a 3-2 thriller on Monday evening.

The clash at St James’ Park on 25 August was tense, due to Liverpool’s pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Sixteen-year-old Rio Ngumoha scored the winner for Liverpool against Newcastle in the 10th minute of injury time, becoming the Reds’ youngest ever goalscorer.

The result maintained Arne Slot‘s side’s 100 per cent record to start their Premier League title defence, having also defeated Bournemouth 4-2 so far.

Arne Slot reveal will leave Liverpool fans stunned

Slot’s side are known for their remarkable attacking record, able to constantly pluck goals from nothing through the likes of Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.

A new reveal from Opta proves that firepower as the Dutchman has seen his side score in 98 per cent of their Premier League matches.

They have scored in 39 of his 40 league games in charge, which is the highest percentage by any manager who has taken charge of 15 or more matches in the Premier League.

What records has Arne Slot broken with Liverpool?

Slot’s brilliant maiden season in English football will be hard to top, as he broke several club records after replacing the legendary Jurgen Klopp.

The Dutchman won 36 of his first 50 matches in charge of the L4 club, surpassing the likes of Kenny Dalglish and Joe Fagan, who both had 29.

His side won their opening six away matches in all competitions for the first time in the 132-year history of the Reds.

Slot’s side scored in every away game last season, something that had never been done before by the Merseysiders previously.

Perhaps the most important record was not one that he broke, but one that he equalled, which was Manchester United’s 20 league titles.

If he can guide the Reds to another title, they will overtake their arch-rivals and become the undisputed most successful club in England.

There is a big chance that they do that, but Slot will have to sort the defensive deficiencies that have plagued his team in the opening two matches, if they are to retain their crown.
