Jeremie Frimpong injury: Doctor shares when Liverpool star is expected back in training

Jeremie Frimpong has been ruled out with a hamstring injury and will miss the next few games for Liverpool.

The 24-year-old started for Liverpool in the 4-2 win against Bournemouth but was taken off in the second half.

Arne Slot told the press a few days later that it was the right decision to take Frimpong off at Anfield and that he’s not expected back before the international break.

Jeremie Frimpong is out with a likely Grade 2 hamstring injury

The Netherlands international will certainly miss the games against Newcastle and Arsenal that are before the international break.

If his return timeline holds, Dr Rajpal Brar expects the 24-year-old back in training in the final days of the international break.

The injury expert believes that Frimpong is ruled out with a Grade 2 out of 4 hamstring injury.

Dr Brar told Liverpool News: “Given his expected return date post international break, this sounds like a Grade 2 out of 4 hamstring strain.

“It’s not all too unexpected, as transitioning from pre-season to regular matches comes with some risk and Frimpong is a very high pace player, which puts even more load on the hamstring.

“If the timeline holds, I would expect him to be training at full intensity during the final days of the international break.”

Liverpool must ease Jeremie Frimpong back into action

Liverpool must ease Frimpong back into action post-injury to ensure his long-term fitness and effectiveness.

Rushing his return risks re-injury, especially given his high-intensity, attacking role in Slot’s 4-3-3 system.

A gradual reintegration, with limited minutes and tailored training, will preserve Frimpong’s explosive pace and creativity, vital for Liverpool’s title challenge, while avoiding burnout or further physical strain.
