A supercomputer has just predicted what’ll happen when Liverpool face Newcastle

Liverpool just about managed to get over the line in their dramatic 4-2 win over Bournemouth at Anfield.

The Reds will be hoping their trip to St James’ Park is a less dramatic affair, after late goals from Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah restored Liverpool’s two-goal advantage after a brace from Antoine Semenyo drew the visitors level.

Hugo Ekitike opened the scoring at Anfield on his Premier League debut, with the striker expected to start against Newcastle United, who were reportedly the other club that were pursuing his signature over the summer.

Liverpool’s away fixture against Newcastle will kick off at 8pm on 25 August, with all eyes on St James’ Park.

Liverpool favourites to beat Newcastle

With all the drama surrounding Alexander Isak and his proposed move to Liverpool, Newcastle’s clash with the Reds is set to be a fiery affair.

Opta’s supercomputer expects Liverpool to follow up their win against Bournemouth with another three points as Arne Slot’s side attempt to win the Premier League for a second season in a row.

Given Isak’s recent blockbuster statement, it looks unlikely that the Swedish striker will feature against the Reds as he continues to look to push a move through to the champions.

This is something that will have undoubtedly increased Liverpool’s chances of picking up three points, as Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa showcased their need for a traditional number nine.

More defensive solidarity needed by Liverpool

Whilst Newcastle failed to find the back of the net at Villa Park, the likes of Anthony Gordon and Anthony Elanga looked extremely dangerous in transition with their blistering pace.

If the pair can utilise this and make creative runs in behind when Liverpool’s full-backs push on, the Geordies could be set to celebrate multiple goals during the game.

Slot will need to ensure that his side does not get caught out as much when they turn the ball over, but this has been a problem that has also plagued them in pre-season.

With Manchester City and Arsenal both also getting off to winning ways, it is set to be a fascinating title race, and Liverpool will need to up their game if they want to retain their crown.
