Liverpool fans all say the same thing after Alexander-Arnold makes La Liga debut

Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool in controversial circumstances this summer.

The 26-year-old departed his boyhood club to join Real Madrid on a free transfer after 20 years with the Anfield outfit.

The way that Alexander-Arnold conducted his exit left Liverpool supporters reeling, but the Reds would eventually manage to get £8.5million for the right-back.

Los Blancos paid that figure to get the England star for the start of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Trent Alexander-Arnold struggles on La Liga debut for Real Madrid

Alexander-Arnold has forever soured his relationship with Liverpool fans after the way that he left, with many supporters not happy with the silence around his departure.

They took great pleasure in his La Liga debut for the 15-time Champions League winners, as he struggled in the 1-0 win against Osasuna, although the Spanish media painted the ex-Liverpool man in a positive light.

The Three Lions ace created just one chance, made just one recovery and failed to win both of the ground duels that he attempted in his 68 minutes on the pitch, before Dani Carvajal replaced him.

Did Liverpool upgrade on Trent Alexander-Arnold?

Liverpool supporters are clearly still furious about the circumstances of Alexander-Arnold’s exit.

Many could not understand why he would leave his club to join the Spanish giants, as the Reds are in a great position.

However, he chose wider fame and fortune, and a chance to secure his wider footballing legacy, but it has been a harsh welcome so far, to the delight of the L4 faithful.

Arne Slot’s side brought Jeremie Frimpong in from Bayer Leverkusen and already have Conor Bradley in their ranks, who is ready to make the step up to elite-level football if he can shake his injury issues.

The former impressed on his Premier League debut against Bournemouth, especially from a defensive point of view, which is something that the Englishman had regularly been criticised for.

Frimpong made two clearances, one interception and one recovery and also won three out of four ground duels against the Cherries, for a 75 per cent success rate.

Did the Reds upgrade on Alexander-Arnold by bringing in the Dutchman? The evidence so far suggests that they did, but it remains to be seen in the long term.
