Liverpool vs Arsenal ‘concern emerges’ as Premier League make official announcement
Liverpool face a tough set of fixtures in the Premier League which could play a huge part in the title race for this season.
Arne Slot’s side secured a hard-fought three points in Liverpool’s opening day victory over Bournemouth, and will now face even tougher tests.
Liverpool will travel to face Newcastle next, while their ongoing pursuit of Alexander Isak is causing tension with the Magpies.
After that, they will welcome Arsenal to Anfield, in a battle between last year’s champions and runners-up, but the visitors already have one concern.

Liverpool fan Jarred Gillett to referee Arsenal vs Leeds
Arsenal will face Leeds at home before the heavyweight clash at Anfield, and the Premier League have now confirmed the match officials for the gameweek.
Arsenal fans will be furious, as Jarred Gillett has been appointed the referee for their clash with Leeds, despite being a self-admitted Liverpool fan.
When Gillett joined the PGMOL, he had to declare that he was a Liverpool fan (Daily Mail), meaning that he could not referee their games or those involving Everton.

However, with Arsenal expected to be Liverpool’s title rivals this season, he can now directly impact their upcoming clash.
Last year, Gillett was on VAR duty as he overturned a referee’s decision, and awarded William Saliba a red card in a controversial move.
This meant that Saliba was suspended for Liverpool’s trip to the Emirates Stadium, which ended as a 2-2 draw as Mikel Arteta’s side dropped more points, and there may now be concern among Arsenal fans that there could be a repeat.

Liverpool’s record against Arsenal at Anfield
Whether or not Arsenal have their full squad when going to Anfield, Liverpool will be confident of a win against the Gunners.
Arsenal have not beaten Liverpool away in the league since August 2012, and Jurgen Klopp dished out several four and five-goal thrashings to Arsene Wenger, Unai Emery and Arteta.
However, Liverpool have not beaten Arsenal at Anfield since November 2021, with two 2-2 ties and a 1-1 draw in the league games which have followed since.
Arsenal gave Liverpool a guard of honour before a 2-2 draw in their last meeting, and Liverpool will hope to establish more dominance against them.
